EARRNET is a regional agricultural research and development network
implementing a range of activities to strengthen the root crop and
particularly cassava sub-sector in the ASARECA region.
The network has
six research themes, plays a catalytic role in the delivery of new
technologies with a range of public and private sector partners and
also provides research training and information about cassava.
EARRNET is
seeking partnerships with a range of public and private sector
partners to undertake market driven cassava research in the regions
of Eastern Africa:-
Mission:
Transforming cassava crop
into broad-based
commercial commodity for sustained food security, poverty
alleviation, and income generation through integrated regional
production, utilization, marketing and trade.
The mission was arrived at during the priority setting exercise
carried out in 2003. The new approach
taken by the network is the MARKET-ORIENTED RESEARCH.
