International, regional, in-country and individual attachments: Between 1992 and 1996 EARRNET and ESARC sponsored and conducted fourteen courses at international, regional and in-country levels.
A total of 195 (144 males and 51 females) scientists, technicians and extensionists benefited. Eight technicians and scientists attended short term individual training attachment at IITA in the areas of tissue culture, virology, post-harvest, biotechnology and cyanogenesis. EARRNET and ESARC run regular product and market development courses at the post harvest laboratory on a cost recovery basis for NGOs.
More than 60 participants have benefited from the 1- 3 day training. An in-country course on rapid multiplication of cassava and sweet potato was held in Rwanda and was attended by 17 technicians.

Course Planning Workshops:
A workshop aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skill of participants in planning and managing short in-country courses was held.
