| RAIN Thematic Priorities and Expected Results |

Strategies correspond to sub-themes or projects that a wide spectrum of stakeholders identified as necessary and sufficient to produce the results required for desired impact. In pursuance of its strategic objectives, mission and vision, a number of strategies were identified during the priority-setting exercise and precisely defined during a strategic planning meeting and subsequent consultations. The end result was six themes that RAIN is to implement over a five-year period:
- Enhanced skills in information and communication management and in information and communication technology.
- Improved access to current agricultural information.
- Improved generation of new agricultural content.
- Improved targeting and distribution of information to different categories of users.
- Sustainable financing for agricultural information.
- Harmonized strategic and policy environment for agricultural information.
Results
The expected results from these strategies will be:
- Demand driven information and communication technologies/innovations generated and promoted.
- Enabling regional and national agricultural information policy options for transformation of agriculture facilitated.
- Regional and national capacity for ICM/T in integrated agricultural research for development (IAR4D) strengthened.
- Availability of information on agricultural research and development enhanced.
