The Soil and Water Management Research Network (SWMnet) is one of the networks and programmes of the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in East and Central Africa (ASARECA). SWMnet is a network of research, training and development organizations and individuals working on soil and water management for agriculture and environment in the ten countries, which are members of ASARECA. These are Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

Land and water resources in East and Central Africa (ECA) utilized sustainably to reduce poverty through profitable agriculture.

Mission
To assist stakeholders in to gain access and effectively utilize the best, locally and globally generated knowledge, information and technologies on soil and water management. This is achieved through effective networking and collaboration between national, regional and international organizations.
