The Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA) is a not-for-profit inter-governmental organization of 15 member countries comprising Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Federal Republic of Somalia, Madagascar, Kenya, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

ASARECA’s core mandate is to coordinate regional agricultural research for development in partnership with NARIs. To achieve this mandate, ASARECA seeks to recruit four staff sourced from the Eastern and Central Africa sub-region to fill senior regional positions at the Secretariat in Entebbe, Uganda.

The Positions are:

Theme Manager – Technology & Innovation. The Theme Manager – Technology & Innovation will report directly to the Executive Director, lead, and coordinate the Thematic Area that focuses on Agricultural Transformation Technologies and Innovations.

Theme Manager – Policy, Markets and Transformative Institutions. The Theme Manager – Policy Markets and Transformative Institutions will report directly to the Executive Director and will provide leadership and operational guidance for all aspects of delivering on the thematic area.

Director of Corporate Services.  The Director of Corporate Services will report directly to the Executive Director and will lead, and coordinate policy, planning, execution, and oversight of Finance and Accounting, Administration, Human Resources, Partnerships and  Contracts, Procurement, Assets management, and Financial Analytics.

Director of Research and Innovation.  The Director of Research and Innovation will report directly to the Executive Director and will lead, and coordinate sustained resource mobilization for implementation of assorted priority programs, strengthening effective partnerships and facilitating planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of critical impacts of regional agricultural research programs.
