Priority areas under the agricultural technologies and innovations are three

Under this priority area, ASARECA implements several projects, programs and initiatives geared towards increasing resilience to climate change, improving the efficiency and effectiveness in use and management of agricultural resources for the benefit of smallholder farmers. The main areas of action are:

  • Coordinating CSA initiatives in the ECA through ACSAA
  • Strengthening the technical, institutional, and human capacity to enhance transfer of climate-relevant information, decision-making tools, and technologies.
  • Scaling of demand-led climate smart technologies and practices.
  • Co-creating knowledge with end-users to support optimal use and management of agricultural resources.

Under this priority area, ASARECA implements several projects, programs and initiatives geared towards promoting sustainable agricultural practices with farmers at the center of food system transformation. The main areas of action are:

  • Food rights
  • Organic agriculture
  • Natural resource management

Under this priority area, ASARECA implements several projects, programs and initiatives geared towards strengthening equitable multi-stakeholder partnerships among actors within governments, industry, civil society and academia for inclusive rural transformation and livelihoods. The main areas of action are:

  • Establish and strengthen agricultural innovation platforms.
  • Engage the private sector to commercialize priority technologies, innovations.
  • Broker international partnerships through South-South, North-South and North-South-South cooperation
  • Jointly mobilize resources for fund regional AR4D initiatives
